Amber A. Rodriguez
Amber attended Arizona State University (ASU) where she earned two Bachelor degrees; one in Political Science and the other in Broadcast Journalism. After graduating from ASU, she returned to California and attended California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Upon completing her Master’s degree in Political Science at CSUN, she attended Southwestern University School of Law.
Upon graduation from Southwestern, Amber became a member of the California State Bar and the Ventura County Bar Association. She served on the Ventura County Bar Association Board of Directors from 2007 through 2009. In addition, she is an active member of the Ventura County Estate Planning and Probate section. She served on the Executive Committee from 2009 through 2024 and acted as the Chair of the Executive Committee from January 2012 until November 2022.
In January 2013, Amber was appointed by the Ventura County Superior Court presiding judge, Honorable Brian J. Back, to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Ventura County Law Library. She served on the board for more than 10 years. She stepped down in December 2023 to allow time for other community-support items.
In her free time, she frequently assists with covering the Ventura County Superior Court probate assignment by sitting as a Judge Pro Tem for the probate division and is actively involved in a variety of local charities and volunteer efforts.
Finally, effective October 17, 2018, Amber was appointed by Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court and Chair of Judicial Council, Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye, to serve on the Judicial Council’s Probate and Mental Health Advisory Committee. Amber served an extended term on this committee, at the request of the Chief Justice. Her extended term was completed in August 2023.
Focus of Practice: Focus of Practice Amber’s practice concentrates on probate and trust litigation and administration, conservatorships, and estate planning. In addition, she is often appointed as Guardian Ad Litem in a variety of matters by the court when necessary and appropriate. Finally, Amber serves as a mediator in both volunteer and paid mediations.
